One of those made up to match a swedish barrel knife would make a smart little set, eh?

That's unique for sure. When out and about the sewing awl on a SAK will easily bore a hole through wood (or leather or plastic) up to about 3/4" thick. Just in case you didn't already know.

If they'd drilled a whole the size of the drill bit through the central cork... left the two end corks free to remove, the drill bit could be placed at 90 degrees to the middle cork, bar threaded through, replace the two end corks to the bar.... you then have a drill with a comfortable handle.
