Hi Guys,
This one's got a bit of a story behind it so please humour me while I bore you.
The story is about 3 years ago I lent my father my Saddleback Side Pocket Duffel Bag (Linky for those interested) for a 6 month business trip to Asia.
After a few weeks he called me to say he really loved the practicality of the bag but it was too heavy for him to lug around airports and between meetings so he took It to a custom leatherwork shop in Dhaka, Bangladesh which was basically a chap in a small shop 6 feet square who repaired shoes and asked him to make him a slightly larger but much lighter bag. Also it had to match his belt in colour.
The result is a really useful bag, it's floppier and won't last 100 years like Saddleback claim but it's lighter for a 65 year old man to carry for hours on end.
Sadly the old man's health deteriorated before he got to carry it more than a few weeks and he's been back at home since. I have no use for it but it's actually a really nice bag and seems a shame to let it go to waste.
As I've said it was created to serve a purpose, weighs about 2kg and isn't as rigid or solidly built as a SBL but it's a good weekend bag to chuck in the back of the car with some clothes in.
Doesn't have a shoulder strap although one is shown in one of the pics, that's off one of my other bags and not included.
Shown alongside my large breifcase for scale and a bottle of whisky inside for inside scale (neither included in the deal). It has two large side pockets which are also shown.
One interesting point is the centre strap is secured with a magnet to keep quick opening when living out of it in a hotel room easy, securing for travelling is done by using the two side straps.
Happy to take more pics if needed.
Would ideally like to trade for another leather item, perhaps a smaller bag, I like rugged and nothing too ornate. Or willing to accept other bushcraft items if anyone has anything interesting they'd like to trade.
Thanks for looking!
