A fully hand forged fire steel or striker made from high carbon virgin tool steel, O1 steel also known as Ground Flat stock. Hand made in the UK to a medieval or Viking design for fire lighting when used with a hard sharp stone typically flint. Water quenched on the striking face to give a hard surface to create hot sparks. Made from new steel with a high carbon content. Traditionally hand forged with hammer, fire and an anvil.
