GPS WORKSHOP
Wednesday November 21st
A must for the growing numbers who now carry a GPS device on the hills or for anyone thinking of acquiring one.
This workshop is usually a very relaxed affair with we hope many makes and models of GPS units to be compared on the night.
Topics include
· A brief not to technical description of how GPS works.
· Uses and limitations.
· Setting up your GPS unit.
· Changing Grids and Datums to work with paper maps.
· Tele-projection Demonstration using Osis Trail Master software.
· Connecting to a PC to transfer routes and track files.
· Using resources such as the Mountain Views website. (Simon Stewart)
· Open forum for discussion.
Time 7.00pm-10.00pm
The Venue is The Quakers Meeting House, 82 Lower Churchtown Road, Dundrum.
