Giant Ferro Rod and striker

I bought this giant ferro rod from a maker in the states.

the rod and striker have oak handles. The size of the ferro rod is six inches long by 1 inch diameter. The handle is an additional 4 inches! It is massive!

I bought this out of curiosity on a bit of a whim. In reality I don’t need such a monster of a ferro rod.

I have tested it once in the garden. It was like watching fireworks!

I realise this is expensive for a ferro rod (although significantly less than I paid) but it really is an amazing bit of kit that will last several life times! It is also great fun to use!
