G10 Spyderco UKPK

I stupidly sold mine and want another but don't like the new red G10 one at Heinnie Haynes.

Anyone?

OK now I'm going to show how ignorant I am.. what is G10? A plastic of some sort? Metal? Sorry to be so ignorant but it's good to learn these things.

Possibly but may be patchy ... not sure if you’d have to sand down the texture which would ruin it imo

OK now I got it. So the colour is set by the colouring in the resin. So not realy possible to change. New handle seems the only option.

Unlike a lot of Spydercos thatbhave screws the UKPK handle is riveted so a lot harder to change the handles ... in particular this model has a full length back spring so has 4 pins instead of the earlier UKPK’s that have 3

Good price, but the red is fugly. A bright red like the CRKT Liong Mah #5 would have been really nice.

I quite like the red. I still think Rit dye would be worth a try, it does penetrate and stain resin.

Isn’t the lite FRN riveted and the G10 torx bolted?

I wouldn’t take one apart, that spring is a sod to reseat.
