Got this fired at me by email and kind of ignored it. I was thinking it was probably another piece of over claimed Chinese rubbish.

Seems I'm wrong, and interested.

Pictures, make what you will of it, but the 1600 lumens and infinite variability appeal. Watch the vid in the link.

Clever device, cool design.

Does look very clever, I dont think 1hr 40 at full output on a single 18650 is achievable though but that said how often do you need 1600 lumens. How it deals with heat dissipation will be key too especially if one were to wear it on their noggin in some way

My first concern was heat dissipation, but there's a chip on board to manage it, and the LEDs are mounted on a copper pillar (whatever that means ;)).

technically possible with mainstream technology, and one 4000mah 3.7v battery equalling 15watt hours, 3000 lumen for 1 hour or 1500 lumen for 2 hours, but thats maximum, without generating much heat, and if I remember right, would require 7 or 14 seperate led's. Given its mounted on copper heatsinks, its not exactly tailored to the efficiency side of things. It's probably calculated lumen. Also other things I would have liked to have seen is a fully adjustable beam pattern, to compliment the fully adjustable brightness.

Edit:

your right, its not chinese !
