From sofa to spoon (photo heavy)

Hi I have been out working in the back garden this afternoon and have just finished making this spoon. I used a bit of the recycled timber from the sofa that I broke up a while a go.
first two photos are after rough cutting out with the axe.

the next two are after rough cutting with the Knife.

the next are after fine knife finish

The final photo is after the spoon has been sanded and a bit of detail being carved on it.

Yes Mesquite it was a bit, but its beech which is a nice grain to carve.

Yes it is I enjoy the process, this is the third spoon I have made the first two were made from a piece of apple wood.
