I'm making a wood fire cooking stand or grill for my families bonfire night cook-out to hold burger and sausage cooking racks like these off the burning coals.
I'm cutting down an old steel gate, and I'm going to weld on some legs from the bits I cut off.
My question is, how high should the legs hold the grill off the ground? 6in seems to short, do you reckon 10 or 12in would be not too high?
