Friction Fire drill bow question

What is a good combination on wood, commanly found in uk woodland, to use for the drill, bow and fireboard.

well anything green will do for the bow as you want it to bend anyway, but i find sycamore on sycamore works well for me, willow on willow also works, but for me its just a little soft, i find it tends to drill very deep quite quickly....

Try a hazel drill on hazel, sycamore, ivy or lime fireboard. A more general rule is to seek out soft, low density woods for both fireboard and spindle. If the wood can be easily indented with the thumbnail it should be suitable. The bow can be any wood of sufficient strength. Good luck with your endeavours!
