Fly fishing has been a bit of a family thing in my family since I was a tiddler myself, Dad used to take us out at least once a week, usually river fishing, but the lakes were a special trip out, sadly Dad isn't well enough now, and passed his tackle to my Brother, who passed away last year, hopefully we will be getting all the tackle back sometime as there are some Split cane rods in the collection as well as the more modern carbon-fibre ones... Happy days remembered... Sadly gone now.

I havent had a chance to watch the vid but older rod's if well cared for can be just as good if not better than newer rods costing far more money.
