To accord with forum rules (I think) I am posting here the info on the food prep we carried out as part of a winter skills course with Woodland Ways. The rest of the course is covered at

We prepared the supplied:
- squirrel
- partridge
- pheasant
for example:

and cooked them in a dutch oven

But we had a little mishap with one of the dishes. We had rested the oven on the burning wood but some of it burnt through and the dutch oven tipped. The food got a little bit burnt (it's actually the pheasant):

Despite that all the food was great and I was amazed at just how much better than packeted food it was. And I now want a Dutch oven!
