As some of you may have read, I am undertaking an archaeology dissertation on early wood drilling techniques (an experimental study). I was kindly offered by joe a place on a flint knapping course but was unable to attend. I was wondering if anyone would be able to make for me one or two flint drill bits? These would have a fairly uniform thickness of about 1/2" along the shaft and a thicker end for tethering to the drill. I can't find a picture at the moment but I will endevour to track one down. Please send me a private message if you would be interested in helping me out for a fee.
Cheers
Pete

You could do yourself such a good thing and book a place on either one of the Lord's courses, they are incredibly decent and helpful people and extremely knowlegable about all of the applications of flint; or one of Backwoodsurvival's courses, Patrick's workmanship and his craftwork using 'primitive' tools are superb.

Best of luck with it,
cheers,
Toddy
