"First" spoon

A while ago I was given a crook knife by bert333 in exchange for a paracord watchstrap. Of course I had to try it out, and so grabbed a handy piece of Birch and started whittling. Although the finished article resembles a spoon, for obvious reasons I chose not to finish it.

At the weekend, while staying indoors to avoid the awful weather, I spotted a piece of wood (some sort of Pine) in the log pile that seemed perfect for another attempt so out came the Mora and crook knife again, and here is the finished article (on the right obviously):



I've included the original attempt just for the sake of it. :)

The spoon is a bit short, so it's more of an "eater" as opposed to a "stirrer" but I'm pleased with it. Or rather I was... my wife has claimed it, so I'll have to start again!
