First Snowy Overnighter

I've not posted in a long while as stuff has got in the way over the last couple of years.
But tonight I find myself wild camping in Kent...in the snow.

Never tried this before and really quite enjoying it.

That set up is pretty cool! It also brings back a few memories for me sleeping under a poncho strung as a "hooch".

I did. And I had a great time.

The coldest it got was -3 and my sleeping bag is rated for much lower temps, so I was nice and warm.

It was strange how different the wood was camping in snow. There was very little noise in the wood overnight, and normally I'm woken at by the dawn chorus, but there was very little birdsong. A lone Robin visited my pitch to root among the leaf litter where I had cleared the snow.

All in all a very different wild camping experience.

And leaving only footprints ..
