has anyone got experience of burning Wellingtonia (red wood) or Monkey Puzzle on an open fire? do the spit and spark alot

We got a large red wood that came down 2 years ago - it is hanging from another tree, I was wondering if it is worth dropping it. Also got a large dead standing Mokey Puzzle.

Monkey Puzzle wood looks great, from the bits i've seen it has an amazing grain and some great colours in it. Seems a bit of a waste burning it.

We milled a monkey puzzle tree some years ago, The timber was interesting on account of the regularity of the knots. It would make a smashing table or panelling, but one would have to be careful in the drying as knots do funny things when dried too quickly.
