I enjoyed that fella thanks. This is the way I want to go(skiing/touring) after many years of snow boarding its time maybe to try a bit of skinning. Fancy a snowboard trip and a few lessons on the ski's....dont want to be an olympic champion just so I can get out walking....the again there are always snow shoes!!!!! Might be too long in the tooth to learn to ski now!!!

Takes no time to aquire the skills needed for going hiking, the hardest part is down. I gather you would need about a day or so. Absolutly not necessary with lessons.
