Eagle Owl Chick - Warning, may cause you to say 'Aaah...'

I took my son and a few of his friends to the most excellent Feathers and Fur in Wargrave, Berks, for his birthday on Sunday. Sadie had a new arrival in her aviary - an Indian Eagle Owl chick called Charlie...





Here's a full-grown European Eagle Owl - this one's got a 6ft wingspan...

Bubo bubo? A couple of years ago in our town in France there was a guy who used to parade one around on Saturdays (market day), it used to sit on his arm. He wore VERY thick leather gloves. :O

My money was on the owl. And I won

The spaniel was competing for affection - at one point (sadly when my camera wasn't ready) she lay on her back with her legs in the air, curled round the owl, begging to get a cuddle as well...
