Yes looks like dryads saddle to me , I have found several in my local woodland in the last few weeks.According to a few mushroom books I have read it is edible when young , anytime I have considered trying it though it always seems to be infested with maggots.
Yeah, I,ve thought about this type of fungi, as a possible taster, too.
But, being such a rarity in this particular wood, it would be completely irresponsible to go a-picking.
Apart from this consideration, and the maggots ( of course), all 3 sites are very close to well-worn trails, yet, strangely, few folk even know that theyre there....
but, I,ll bet the dogs know!
