Drinking horn hints

Evening All
I've just got a piece of horn suitable for making into a drinking horn ordered and coming in the post.
Whats the best way to liquid proof it? do i need to treat it in any specific way?
All tips,hints, suggestions very welcome

During Dave Budd's working party, Dave's friend Drew came for the Saturday night. Drew looks like a Saxon, dresses like a Saxon and drank like a Saxon. (I think it was Saxon)
He was drinking out of a home-made drinking horn. Drew said it was lined with bee's wax. Found out there's a knack to drinking out of a horn. HTH. Harry.

I've been told that no treatment is neccasary.
Then years later I was told that a fine line of super glue around the rim will keep the horn from de-laminating.Your call on if you believe this.

With mine all I did was make sure it was clean inside and fill it with my favourite drinkie.

in which case no treatment apart from repeated coatings of port for it then

I put a bottle of coke in mine for a day or two.

the acid kills any gribblies and sorts it out.
