I like suggestions as to what i should be looking for with regards to the edging on my
rucksacks..

Please see pic

Its the material that goes around the edge of the rucksack lids.

I'v looked at a few different types but can't decide what it is via internet pics. I'm hoping someone on here can.

I'm making an underquilt and i want to use it around the edges. (olive green or black)

I should point out that i'm using a heavier material than ripstop for the outercover of the quilt. In case that changes matters

hope you can help, all suggestions welcome.

cheers

More specifically, you need to look for Mil-T-5038.

You may see it being referred to by different classes and types. It’s produced in 5 types and 3 classes:

Type II – Tape, herringbone twill
Type III – Tape, Plain weave
Type IV – Webbing, Double plain weave
Type V – Tape, Herringbone twill weave
Type VI – Tape, Herringbone twill weave

Class 1 – Critical use (shuttle loom, nylon 6,6)
Class 1A – Critical use (shuttleless loom, nylon 6,6)
Class 2 – Non-critical use (shuttle or shuttles loom nylon 6 or nylon 6,6)

There's probably an haberdashery (sewing stuff) or two in the famed Barnsley Market. They will likely have what you want.

The one i tried looked a bit bemused by my requirements, theres a few more outlets to try, might help if I take a rucksack.
