Dead tree ID

Hi.

Can anyone ID this tree please. No leaves as it has been dead a good while by the looks of it. I didn't think to take a picture of the surrounding living trees I'm afraid.

Looks like dead ash to me, is it a complete dead tree or is it a limb from a surrounding tree? Some pics of surrounding area might help

I thought willow to begin with but have since changed my mind as the fissures (sp) are not very deep. Ash may be a goer as it burns well in the log burner.

This was the main trunk, not very large really, and there was only one branch coming off that, which may be due to the length of time it has been dead for. I'll try and get more and better pics if/when I revisit the site.

Looks a bit Goat Willow. Not a good burner. If it's Ash, it's quite an old bit. It doesn't weather well.
