Went to the Wonder of Wood Festival near to Cambridge today and had a great time wandering around the various stalls.
There were a couple stalls selling old hand tools which I had a good rummage around
Even got away with buying some bits and pieces including a couple more lamps without the current wife making a single comment
The Eccles No6 miners lamp and little Kwang Ha hurricane lantern (which had never been lit) set me back £30 for the two. But the bargain of the day for me was the roll of brace bits most of in virtually unused and a couple totally unused. When I asked the guy what he wanted for it and when he said a fiver I almost ripped his arm off in my speed to give him the money and take them before he changed his mind
I bought the little hammer simply because the handle has such beautiful patterning in the grain. You can just make out in the photo but it's far mork striking in the hand, plus it was a bargain at £3
I saw some lovely braces and hand drills but sadly none were for sale. They made a nice display though
