hi all does anyone no when is the best time of year to try my hand at catching crayfish i no they burrow into banks in the cold weather but when do they come out again. im hungry

Camokid - have you seen the earlier thread (about two weeks ago?) discussing the need for permits to catch crayfish?

The warmer months are best. I have noticed the odd signal about even in the coldest months though but havent tried trapping in winter yet.

Camokid, reassure us that you read the bits about transference of disease between watercourses and the issues with the native crayfish too ?
