I have one spare I'm prepared to swop. I got two in the group buy and only ever used one.

Did you know they retain taste of what you put in them? Great advantage I think, since I filled one with brandy and each time I fill it with water I still get a tinge of bandy. And they say the age of miracles is past.

Many thanks for the surprise package. It has put the spark back into my life.

Many years ago when our boys were small, they watched me trying to get a fire going during a downpour 5,000 feet up in the Rockies so I could cook a hot meal after a long, arduous day. At the time, I had yet to discover the importance of carrying dry tinder. They went to bed that night after a scratch, cold meal of muesli: they have never let me forget it.

I think I will pass the spark-maker on to my 12 year old grandson so his doesn't have to rely on his father. The tinder in its natty tube is going straight into my pack. My wife is eyeing the knife pouch with interest as it is just the right size for her Laguiolle.

So you have made a lot of people happy. Thank you Corso.
