Dunno what you mean by "cheap", but the Vinbrite Mk III filter is superb and should only set you back 15-20 quid - and that price includes a packet of SuperEnzyme, and packet of finings of some kind, and a pack of filter pads (6 or 8, can't remember which).

Trying to filter your wine with a funnel and filter papers is a waste of time, in my experience. And quite a surprising amount of time at that...

Yup, thats what I use too - can take a while but it works well. For me the trick is patience and good finings and then the filter for a final polish. Not fining properly means the filter clogs in short order
