I don't think Coniston's too bad for litter, there's a few places within easy reach of the car parks which get a bit but we tend to stick to the little beaches you can only access from the water. I think I like Coniston because there isn't a busy road right next to it like a lot of the others, Thirlmere's the prettiest but that A591 just doesn't stop all day. I keep meaning to paddle Windermere again but can't be bothered trying to park, saying that I've got NT membership now, hmmm
