I really like the Trangia fuel bottles because of the total controlability when pouring fuel. I know that they are designed to take meths for the stoves but does anyone know if they're OK to use with petrol or Coleman fuel?

Any help or clues much appreciated!

I take it you're talking about the red plastic ones with the pour valves?
I've carried coleman fuel in one without problems.

You can also make or buy (or at least you could) the little Sigg bottle pourers, which are just as controllable but have no springs or anything to go wrong.
