), we used to make arrows like this....
Choose straight rowan shoots for the shaft...peel and harden over a fire...
The bow was usually made from juniper or a spruce branch...
Arrowheads were made from 2" nails forged (ie. flattened) over an anvil with a hammer...
Fletching made from various feathers found in the forest (crow, ptarmigan, cappercaillie...). First split, then glued to the shaft with pine resin and bound with sewing thread...
