Catching a warm up

Caught these little guys having a warm up out of the wind. They were sitting on a tyre of a recently parked truck.

I like sparrows, something happy, everyday clothes, about them, but up close the detailing in their feathers is beautiful.
Have you watched them fly though ? They twist and turm like the harriers and jaguar jets practicing in the hills and the fledglings learning to fly are crazy

When I was a kid we called them Spuggies. At times over here you see more of them than native garden type birds.

how odd, i've never heard them called the names you lot have used lol.
always known em as sparrows!
then again i live near a nature reserve (mossland) so we get ALOT of birds round here. and to boot the streets in my area are named after birds too! hehe

We called them Spuggies in Newcastle as well.

I was sitting in a car park when this truck pulled up. Wasn't but a few moments that the pair showed up.. I took the pic real quick out of my car window. Time I left there were about 8 sitting on the tyre.
