Carving with a Lapplander?

I'm going to make a full-tang knife for general bushcraft, but in particular want to be able to carve with it. I've been using a locking folder (leatherman E304x, www.skovdenatur.nu/produkt.asp?id=3518) to date which has a great blade shape, but is a bit small and gives me blisters with prolonged use, not to mention the risk of breakage with heavier bushcraft work.

Some of the blades around seem to have too much curve (probably helps with skinning, not something I do often). Does anyone have any experience of carving with a lapplander 90, 95 or 115? I've also been looking at the RM clone blades around. Any other suggestions?

The lapplander 90 is a great little blade imo to make up. you can pick it up really cheap from here:

Made one for my bro last year and he has enjoyed using it. Is a pretty comfy handle shape on it too:

Silkstone, Blighty!
I'm surprised that Mora or a similar company haven't started mass producing the stamped out blades in a Woodlore style. At ten or 15 quid a pop, they'd make a fortune!

True,
I ambitously bought a piece of 01 and printed off greenpete's template with a view to making my own 'woodlore', but based on the above may bottle out and go for the lapplander first and save that job for a rainy day!
