Hi all,

Some time ago I saw a thread (or might have been an article) about a
piece of canvas (or similar) with which you can make a chair. I think it
might have had eyes/rivets on it. The structure used to make this chair
was a kind of tripod/tipee made from sturdy branches. I can not remember
it very well. I wish I could, because now I am looking for this thread. I like
to know how to fashion such a chair, because it looked very comfy to sit in.
It basically was a tipee with a piece of canvas somehow hung from it so
that you could sit on it.

Could anyone please point me to this article please. Any other ideas on how
to make a comfortable lightweight chair that packs small is also more than
welcome..

thanks in advance!

I've got a home made hammock chair made from a heavyish cotton that was originally a US Navy raincape. Basically a rectangle a metre wide and as long as me (6 feet), with a gutter at each end, though which ropes are passed to gather it into a hammock.

I used parachute material, which was good enough, but I keep meaning to buy some of fjelldukens material, as you can buy a square, and it would be very warm, but their website is not very adequate for english buyers.

Wow, Dave that's exactly what I like to try. Nice job. I bet that
feels like heaven after a hard day's work outdoors. It looks so
comfy.

Jared, I am glad you posted the link. I just bought the jungle
chair they sell. If I get cold while sitting in it, I will shove a few
hot rocks underneath it. Looking forward to using it already!
thanks guy's
