Can anyone ID this plant for me?

Found in Devon by woodland edge habitat.

Looks like something in the rose family, but I really don't know what.

Francis Rose has been no help at all unfortunately.

And apparently poisonous in large doses!

Not really poisonous but mildly toxic. At worst you will get an upset stomach if you eat loads.

One question I could have answered (if I'd been quick enough) nice looking bloom and depending on where you read talk to the large flowers around the outside are sterile or one tree specialist I know said they are classed as leaves it's the small flowers in the centre that are the actual reproductive parts. Either way it's an eye catching sight when walking through the woods.
