Butchering Axe

Any ideas?
My Grand parents were butchers and I have reconditioned one of their old meat cleavers (it was in a worse state than this)
The cleaver is now residing in my kitchen all shiney and is unrivalled for meat slicing duty.
But this behemoth….what purpose can it serve now? (As I do not intend to split any cows up …cuase they keep ‘mooing any time I get close )
The scale in the one pic is a 10p coin on the blade

na, i wouldn't make it into a bill hook. they are so easily avalable and can be brought for peanuts.

i would try and clean it up, replace the old handle then you could probably sell it for a good price to the right customer.

Make a belt hook for it & wear it to meets... people will think you are a really hardcore bushcrafter

Yup, thanks for the replies.

just really not sure who would want it or why.
I think i'll take it to the shot blasters (the rust just does not want to come off cleanly....must be slightly pitted surface) then rehandle it and stick it on the wall.....Think my folks would like to see it back in 'working' order.
I am so lucky to have found all the tools left by my Grandparents, they are all utterly useless in their current state, but with work are all still full of potential.
I even found some draw knife blades/ billhooks/sythes/scales/ hoe's etc...very much a window to the past..and all i wanted was to use the 'Big peddaly grind stone' to shape me chopper!

lovely find. i think you should clean it up and rehandle it. and show your grandparent.looking at the handle is that evidence of woodworm? if so get it out the house!!
