Thanks Gaz and Rich!

Yes, the 'super-shelters' as Mors Kochanski has coined them are a fascinating piece of work. He talked about how the concept and architecture of the igloo was thousands of years old, that they are a time-tested design. He employs similar concepts but for the Boreal forest in these designs: a cold well (as in an igloo), to keep the cold down low away from your body; a low ceiling to keep the heat low to your body, and reduce the amount of space that your body's equivalent of 150 lightbulb watts produces has to heat; etc..., etc... I haven't slept in one or built one, but I intend to next summer. It seems a much better solution to a lean-to.
Cheers,
Mungo
