I make quick, simple ones for everything from sweeping the ground clear under where I'm going to pitch my tent, to clearing up around the hearth when we're finished.
Usually just bind together whatever's at hand, bracken, birch twigs, heather, broom or even the long shavings from the pole lathe.

When I was a boy I used to make themfrom green or dry coconut / fronds leaves in Mauritius also we used the dead part of the flowering stick as a quick broom very efficient as a broom. Also bamboo's if you can get hold of. Cheers.

Aaah now many of those I would term a besom as opposed to a brush. I guess both are brooms, but a besom is the simplest "witchy" form (where I grew up)
