Hi All,
I've been discovering the joys of brambles lately.
So far I've found they provide:
Cordage and rope
A type of basket rattan in the thick vines
Berry fruit (obviously)
Leaf tea
Leaf tobacco
Edible shoots
Edible roots
Orange dye from roots
Any more uses you know of are much appreciated.
Now the thing I've really tried to find out, even looking through papers on the properties of brambles (rubus fruticosus) but can't find anything on the pith.
The pith does look and feel like it has the potential to be a carbohydrate. It even tastes okay.
I would love to officially know whether it is as it'd be a great bountiful source everywhere if so.
Does anyone know?
