Can someone recommend a good book for learning knots please.....

Ashley's is the Bible

That said, Des Pawson's is very good indeed

Geoffrey Budworth's is another author to have a look at too.

I admit my bias, I did a course with Des Pawson years ago, and his teaching is brilliant

I agree on Ashley even though there are some knots used thses days that are not in Ashley (ex Siberian Hitch)
