Boiled leather and wood

Been playing around with this for a bit (more like in the hands of the Gods) and made up this fire starting pouch. Only the bottom part was boiled and not the flap. I got another project in mind so i'm not saying how i do it. Sorry.

I see - I usually go for soft pouches

From experiments with hardened leather armour for reenactments I felt that actually boiling the leather shrunk and hardened the leather too much if timing wasn't watched very carefully but that hot water treatment without boiling did the job. However, whatever works for you and itts a nice job.
