Boar ing signs...

I came across some foot prints in the woods the other day, they were a couple of days old, so not the clearest they could be.

My googling suggests these could be Wild Boar. Can anyone offer any better indications? The non obvious dew claw marks gives me doubt.

Difficult to tell from just the odd print Julia.

My first thought was a Fallow deer which would be a lot less exciting.

They look a little small for Boar, and like you I would wonder where the dew claw imprint was........a little early for undeveloped young, there are certainly none around here yet.

The size would lead me to Muntjac, but the shape? Hard to tell..........Sorry, not much help here..........
 
I think that I'm with countryman. There again my knowledge of deer tracks in Europe is a faint memory.

Here I would say load the rifle and go in search of better tracks, which you will surely find.

That might not be the best idea in your circumstance, because pigs are smart if you find you are tracking such,
