As I'm on the outskirts of Town, lot of open land/woods next to me, birdlife has always been abundant but for some reason this last month or so I've noticed a really big increase in the amount of Blackbirds and Robins, has anyone else? Maybe due to the mild winter?

Is it the number of birds or is it just that you're hearing them more ? Blackies sing just now but will more or less stop after the breeding season is by. Robins sing anyway, but they're really bold about coming to see what humans are up to just now, they're after food for mates and nestlings.

Seeing a lot more more this year. The only change near me was three trees I had to have felled so maybe thats changed the area enough for new nestings?

Some do migrate,maybe the numbers are more due to passage.
