Cheers, Some of the finishing with the SAK, the rest with a small sami knife, spoon gauge, axe and cheated a bit with a bit and brace to start off the bowl
Bit and brace hey, now theres an idea. I just carved the bowl on my first Kuksa out of seasoned chestnut. You might call it cheating a bit, but I wish I'd used a one, I might not have such blistered hands
That's great - and it's a beautiful bit of wood too. I reminds me my burr alder one is soaking in oil at the moment and I meant to fish it out to see what it looked like before I came into work. I'll have to wait until I get home now.
Thanks for the comments folks, recon I'll be making another soon diffent design and a bit better finished, getting quite into carving again, I'll stick my new spoon up tomorrow.
