I do admire the work that he has done for young people, his relentless energy and enthusiasm but I also find his programmes tiring to watch because of his ceaseless, Tigger-like energy; equally, the flat delivery of the voice over and some of the things he chooses to do on camera pander more to the action-hero devotees than the technique-interested, 'quieter' fans. The programmes were originally geared for the American market and, as such, offer more of a high-octane take on living in survival situations and the outdoors generally. I might have a look to see if this series is worth it; the experience will enable me to criticise, constructively or negatively, from a position of greater knowledge. I will probably learn a cartload of things too!
