Hi Guys

I've been working on my first knife and am quite pleased with how it has come out. It's nothing flash or innovative, but I quite like it. But I'm in a pickle over how to finish the handle. I've been coating it in Danish oil and when I first apply it the handle looks fantastic. Is there anything that I can do to keep it that way? Do I just need to keep coating with Danish oil or should I have done something different in the first place?

Being a bit green to all this any advice, no matter now basic, is welcome.

To get a really deep sheen on danish oil takes some time, building up many thin layers. Unfortunately when you use a knife the handle finish is liable to go a bit dull. You can spruce it up at any time by applying some more oil. Hope this helps.

I soak my knife handles in Danish oil for between 2 hours and a 12 hours depending whether I want the handle to darken or not.
