Ok Ladys and Gentlemen,
I have a dilemma. I've been saving for a wool anorak, which are pricey. Now that I've a couple of bucks burning a hole in my pocket what do you think?

I have an Asbell and it is functional and pocket friendly. They are definitely a wool blend, but are still warm and breathable. The stitching is not the strongest on mine and I've had to repair it once at the seam under the arm. I've had it for 3 or 4 years I think. Don't forget to get the correct weight wool for your intended purpose. I would also suggest one with a zip down the front. I got their standard pull over and ended up cutting it down the front to make it more versatile.

If your budget will only stretch as far as the Asbell it's a functional piece, and it is definitely worth the money they charge. I have no first hand experience with the others but I would be interested to hear if they are more solidly built. For comparison my Bison bushcraft and Filson wool garments are more refined and solidly stitched - but they cost a lot more too!

I had a nightmare trying to get hold of an Asbell, might be better that your in the US but I was promised mine was shipped and it clearly wasn't. I got a refund rather than an explanation, which was all I was after I was more than prepared to wait
