Cooked on an open fire and sat out watching the stars. There were so many and they were so bright it was hard to make out the constellations. The milky way was clear. It makes the futility of man and the beauty of life very obvious

Wait until you can see the local galaxy from Australia or New Zealand.
Here we see the dusty rim. For them, they look right across the middle of the galaxy.
It really is a near-solid white ribbon of stars. Cluttered, if you ask me.
