Back from Shell Island!! (pic heavy)

had a great weekend at the shell - Greg - directions got me to the trees mate!
weather was ok, and the tent repelled the elements fine!

up goes the tarp...

i'm a bit big for the hammock, but it was comfy

lol I know that section i think we nearly camped there as well. Glad you had a good time its a great site especially when the weather is bad as it feels empty.

it was very quiet - no more than about 40 tents on the whole island, and bonus was we got 2 nights for the price of one on a special offer
i was in the hammock on the first night listening to the fire crackle and the wind through the trees - very peaceful!
i do need a bigger hammock though - i couldn't spend the night in this one!

I've been thinking of going to Shell Island, but according to their unofficial web site you can

only have fires on the beach, is this not strictly the case as your camp doesnt look very

beach like from the pics ??
