I was watching one of the chubby ones dvd's the other night and one of the extras on the disc was on Axe Care where he used a gun oil as treatment for the axe head.
I normally just give mine a rub of 3 in 1 but the bottle and the brush applicator looks quite handy  .
So, does any one know what he used and if so where you get it?

Can't answer for what RM used, I use Hoppes gun oil. Its good stuff as modern smokeless is corrosive stuff (though not as bad as black powder). Bore solvant is great for removing any rust spots etc.

You can buy gun oil from any local gun shop. If you want to do it on line go to

www.rimfiremagic.co.uk. Give Roger a call and he'll sort you out

It was Napier gun oil.
It comes in user-friendly bottles or the expensive little squat green ones on the programme that have little brush and a squeezy head.

I thought the bottle he used was the current army issue oil bottle that comes with the SA80 rifle maintenance kit. You might get one from a surplus shop or evil-bay.
