We have a couple of the Dutch army ones, sourced from Endicotts at £30 a pair.
They are heavy and initially a real pain to put up and take down, but putting up is easy now that I have learnt the trick to make sure the sockets for the legs are in the right place before trying to put the legs in, and taking down is easy now that I have learnt to lay the beds down flat and upside down, put my feet on the horizontal rods and pull the legs out with two hands.
They seem wider and longer than the British army canvas ones I used to have and don't seem to tip over in the same way.
However, this in itself is a problem and the slight extra length (2.1m) makes them tricky to fit into some inner tents, which are often 2m long, as is our new tent !!
We have made a sleeve of canvas(underside) and wool blanket (upper side) that slips over the ends of the bed, to hold it in place, and the sleeve holds a Fat Airic for insulation. After 50 years of camping this arrangement has given me the best nights of sleep I have ever had, and my wife, for the first time ever, is now sleeping while camping.
We don't find them noisy, but the legs can make squeaky noises if the socket/leg connection is dry. A tiny bit of oil seems to solve this.
I did look at the cot style, but found the height of them made them impossible to fit into tents with sloping walls without using up too much floor space.
