Antler/bone buckles - help please!

A while back I read a "how to" on making bone/antler Viking style buckles and strap ends....
Now I want to try this I cannot find the post...I am sure it was here somewhere.... can anyone find me the link please?

A few years back I made one based on that 2nd link Stuart, the 17c one. From what I recall the hardest thing was finding a bone big enough to do the job. Mine had a distinctly curved cast to the buckle end. Got one from the pet shop in the end I think
